Star Wars Battlefront II – Starfighter Assault Mode
We are still more than two months away from the release of upcoming action shooter video game of Star Wars franchise and a sequel to Star Wars Battlefront; Star Wars Battlefront II. So, while the fans are dying in expectations, EA and DICE decided to tease them even more. They have showed revealed a gameplay of the Starfighter Assault mode last weekend, showcasing key-features of the part.
Now check out the gameplay demo for the Starfighter Assault mode of Star Wars Battlefront II, presented by designer John Stanley and producer Rob Wyle of the Criterion Games.
Now, EA and DICE has already made the game awesome in its own rights till this point. Then, UK based video game developer studio Criterion Games (Burnout, Need for Speed) decided to contribute and came up with the Starfighter Assault mode. Since they are already a veteran into racing games, that reflects in the mode's unique style when you handle your Starfighter in battle and get that arcade-like feeling.
Battlefront has given us the tour to places like Cloud City and other iconic locations already but now as a result of a multi-studio group effort, you will be taking the fight to the stars and beyond. The multiplayer mode of the game will be covering the entire saga of the cinematic universe till date and the main theme of Starfighter Assault will be simply based on Rebellion vs. Empire.
The set-up of the experience will be an Imperial shipyard that loops around the planet Fondor, which is mostly mentioned in tie-in novels of the saga. Whereas it has a great significance in single player campaign, you will jump into action from hyperspace as a Rebellion fighter to take down Imperial Star Destroyer in Starfighter Assault. It's an epic fan boy experience out there with all that TIE fighters, ion cannons, blazing thrusters and laser shooting around you.
If you are taking the role of a Rebel, then you've got to get inside Imperial defences, blast off the shield generators and take down the power couplings that hold the ships. Now, if you are on the side of Imperials, then all you gotta do is to seek out and finish the rebels. No matter which side you end up choosing, you have a variety of picking up your own fighters and weapons as well.
Releasing in November 17, 2017, Star Wars: Battlefront II will be available from for playing worldwide on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
