Castlevania is best known as the long-running fan-favorite computer game series of fantasy horror genre that initially started in 1986 and then new installments keep popping up from since. Now this is no news that Netflix is working on a Castlevania anime adaptation for TV and they already dropped a teaser trailer a while ago.

Recently, in preparation for this upcoming TV show, Netflix have just dropped a retro-styled international poster for the series, which might give you some nostalgia from the game's early days on consoles.
In this first-ever international poster of Netflix’s Castlevania series, we see a whip-wielding protagonist of Belmont standing tall opposite to the haunted castle and the primary antagonist looming over in the dark red sky of the background. The name of the hero is still to be revealed and as this is Castlevania series, it is safe to assume that Dracula is the ultimate bad-guy of the show of course. Overall, the poster strikes a classic look with a modern touch.
If you were wondering why the retro international poster for upcoming Netflix’s Castlevania series looks so similar, then you might have figured out by now seeing the image above. The creators of the show have paid homage to the 1986's original NES Castlevania video game box art. To be honest, the recent retro-looking poster version is obviously the better one.
The official description for the Netflix’s Castlevania series is as follows:
Ever since the announcement of Netflix's take on Castlevania series has spread, every fan out there has been hyped-up. Following the involvement of Adi Shankar (Dredd, The Grey) and comic-book writer Warren Ellis (Astonishing X-Men: Xenogenesis, Iron Man: Extremis), it only got higher. Finally, decisions have been made of adapting the Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse game for the series.
Although we are still waiting for a solid release date for the show and no announcement has made regarding that point, we still hoping that it will air on July just as the Netflix LATAM trailer suggests. Then again, if any other information is released, we will keep you posted.
