Divinity: Original Sin 2 Takes Top Spot on Steam
Following the success with fantasy role-playing game Divinity: Original Sin, Larian Studios knew that they had to come up with a sequel for it and they eventually made it in 2014. However, the game was at Kickstarter and had to wait two more years to see its worldwide release after it surpassed its initial goal four times and over. So, this was a very positive sign for them to jump onto the game with the big boys, right?

Unfortunately, the path to their goal wasn't as smooth as they thought as an accidental fire nearby had caused a massive power outage and left them in the dark, which was totally out of the blue. This also affected Larian's home studio along with a quarter of their city at Belgium. Last minute before the launch is always the most critical moments for the game developers because there are always major or minor issues that find a way to the release and needs fixing.

So, they waited patiently until the power came but trouble was not over for them and they even thought that this launch is not going to happen. The team has then moved to another location with power but the Steam uploader was feeling very cooperative and refused to boot. You can see what the studio has gone though during the crisis in the clip below.

After much-less waiting and struggle, the game finally saw the light and is currently doing well. In fact, the game is doing so well that it has already managed to secure its place on the Top Sellers List on Steam ahead of game like Dishonored: Death of the Outsider that has also released recently.

Swen Vincke of Larian Studios have acknowledged that the non-English translations of the game will be slightly delayed for some change in the script but fans from France, Germany and Russia have requested to release it as it is now and the studio obliged. Hopefully by next week, they all will be updated. In an official Tweet, Larian Studios also announced that Modding support is on its way.
Since the game has just dropped, we cannot give you in-depth details on Divinity: Original Sin 2 but we sure can help you take a peek at what's in store for you in this "Feature Trailer" below.

The game will take place right after the story of its predecessor with the character Bishop Alexandar the Innocent. He made slaves of all the sorcerers upon declaring them as criminals. So, a small rebellion of four is formed against him to end his tyranny. Divinity: Original Sin 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
